IBC Network Foundation

The purpose of The IBC Network Foundation is simple:

  •  To fund research regarding Inflammatory Breast Cancer.
  •  To provide an avenue to network proactive education to the general population as well as the medical community regarding Inflammatory Breast Cancer.

I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer in February 2017 when I was 39 years old and breastfeeding my 15-month-old son.  I was fortunate enough to be living in North Carolina, at the time, and my primary care provider was part of the Duke health system. I was also fortunate that I was diagnosed within about 10 days of my first visit to the doctor. I completed chemo, then had surgery, then had radiation. My surgery took place the day before my 40th birthday and I was discharged on my birthday. I now happily celebrate each birthday because I am thankful to be living. I just celebrated my 2nd post-cancer birthday this past July.

Over the last couple of years, I have volunteered with the Duke Inflammatory Breast Cancer Consortium whenever possible. The Hunt for Hope is a beautiful collaboration with The IBC Network Foundation and the Duke Inflammatory Breast Cancer Consortium.
