What is the Hunt for Hope?
The Hunt for Hope is an adventurous scavenger hunt! Teams are comprised of two or more participants. Ideal team size is four to six members and teams stay together to complete tasks. You only need a camera phone, transportation and a fun competitive spirit to participate! Teams will have three hours to complete as many of the given tasks as possible. Each task is assigned a point value, and the teams with the most points win prizes.
When is the Hunt for Hope?
The Hunt is Sunday, September 29, 2019 with check in beginning at 1 PM. At this time team captains pick up event packets and t-shirts. Participants can begin bidding on silent auction items and purchase split the pot tickets.The Hunt will run from 1- 4 PM. .The award presentation and silent auction will conclude by 5 pm. Register by September 1st to ensure your t-shirt size.
How does the Hunt for Hope raise money?
There is no participation fee for the Hunt for Hope. Your initial $25 donation offsets the cost of your t-shirt. Instead, teams and individuals are encouraged to reach out to their friends and family to collect donations. Prizes are awarded for teams or individuals that collect the most donations. Teams will also earn some of their points based on the amount of money their team raised! The money raised underwrites research via The IBC Network Foundation. To begin raising donations you can create a participant page or just donate to one of the participants. . Don't forget to see if your company matches donations!
What is Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC)?
IBC is a rare form of breast cancer. The 5-year overall survival rate is less than 30%, as compared to near 90% for all other types of breast cancers combined. IBC cannot be detected until a stage III.
