Every dollar donated to the Houston Food Bank provides the equivalent of three meals for an individual.
The vision for the future is to expand service to the community to 100,000,000 nutritious meals by 2018.
As a member of the nation's largest non-governmental, domestic hunger relief organization - Feeding America - our goal is to make food accessible to hungry people in their greatest times of need.

Welcome to my Running For Food campaign. This year has been extremely difficult in many different ways. The high unemployment rates are leading to long lines at food banks across the country. Closed or partially open schools affects the distribution through the Backpack Buddy program. These are only two reasons why it is important to support the Houston Food Bank.
This year, I am raising money three ways:
- FLS Sugar Land Turkey Trot (3rd year fundraiser and 2-year fundraising prize winner - thanks Andy)
- Running For Food (11th year fundraiser with over 400,000 meals provided, more than half since 2018, through the Houston Marathon Run for a Reason)
- Harvest Marathon Relay (4th year fundraiser with support coming from team registrations, sponsors and donors)

Last year the Houston Food Bank provided 159 million nutritious meals to those in need in the Greater Houston Area. This included 81 million pounds of produce. With your help, we can support the growing need in our community.
