Gulf Coast Archive and Museum of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender History, Inc. (GCAM) is a large collection of artifacts and stories, from the 1950's to the present, focusing on the Texas Gulf Coast area. GCAM facilitates education and research for all interested in learning about the GLBTQ community. GCAM will continue to tell the stories of the triumphs and struggles of this community for future generations.
I will be raising needed funding for Gulf Coast Archives and Museum on Dec 1, running the Houston 25k. This year we have been celebrating 20 years of gathering archives from the GLBT Houston area community. I have fundraised for numerous years supporting GCAM, including lots of shows. On December 1 my show will be a little bit different, (hanging up the heels for a pair of running shoes) as I start to run from the Wortham to Shepherd on Memorial Drive and back (3 loops) 15.1 miles, to the FINISH line. Your generous help will support our efforts at GCAM to provide a place where our archives can be stored for historians to access them and or be viewed by people at satellite outlets in the community. So my goal is $1,000 which will greatly help pay the rent. Help my efforts in preserving our GLBT history in Houston.
