The Society of American Military Engineers is the only nonprofit professional engineering education organization that actively promotes the advancement of both individual technical knowledge and the collective engineering capabilities of governments, the uniformed services and private industry.
Our goal is to unite public and private sector entities and individuals in the A/E/C fields so that we can prepare for and overcome natural and man made disasters, acts of terrorism and improve security at home and abroad.
The Houston Post accomplishes this goal locally by supporting monthly luncheon meetings and other professional/social activities attended by members of local government, military, private industry, students and other interested parties. These meetings are announced via our e-mail distribution list and quarterly newsletter. We are supported by the national Society of American Military Engineers and publications such as The Military Engineer, which also promotes the interests and goals of our society and its members. Please peruse our website to discover the benefits of SAME Houston Post membership.
Thank you for visiting my page!
I have been working as a civil engineer for about 8 years now and have been involved with Society of American Military Engineers for 7 years. I am the proud pet parent to a 10 year old Husky and a 2 year old Turtle. In my spare time, I try to travel as much as I can, obviously the past year and a half traveling has been put on paused. I also design jewelry in my spare time.
SAME has given me may oppurtunties to grow as a professional and also stay involved with my community. I have enjoyed my time with this organization and the community help they aim for which is why I am decideding to participate in Reason2Race. SAME's 2022 goal is to give out $25000 in scholarships to students and aim to send high school students to engineering camps. To include a new scholarship in memory of a past president Tom R. Martens, who recently passed away. SAME Houston-Galveston Post would like to dedicate a future scholarship in his name.
