The Society of American Military Engineers is the only nonprofit professional engineering education organization that actively promotes the advancement of both individual technical knowledge and the collective engineering capabilities of governments, the uniformed services and private industry.
Our goal is to unite public and private sector entities and individuals in the A/E/C fields so that we can prepare for and overcome natural and man made disasters, acts of terrorism and improve security at home and abroad.
The Houston Post accomplishes this goal locally by supporting monthly luncheon meetings and other professional/social activities attended by members of local government, military, private industry, students and other interested parties. These meetings are announced via our e-mail distribution list and quarterly newsletter. We are supported by the national Society of American Military Engineers and publications such as The Military Engineer, which also promotes the interests and goals of our society and its members. Please peruse our website to discover the benefits of SAME Houston Post membership.
I call Houston, Texas home and work for BGE, Inc. in the Land Development business. I’ve been married to my beautiful wife Melissa for 23 years and we have 2 girls that are now in college and a boy in high school. Nothing makes me happier than spending time with my family!
I have been involved with the Society of American Military Engineers (S.A.M.E.) for over 20 years. It is a fantastic organization that gives back to the community, takes care of veterans and supports students in the STEMS fields by providing much needed scholarships for college.
SAME is a non-profit organization that focuses on bringing together the public and private sectors in the A/E/C fields and promotes the advancement of both individual technical knowledge and the collective engineering capabilities of governments, the uniformed services and private industry. The Society is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year. The Houston/Galveston Post commits to distribute approximately $20,000 in college scholarships annually, sending High School students to SAME Engineering & Construction summer camps to promote engineering technical skills and leadership, developing mentoring opportunities, supporting local and regional science fairs and math counts, as well as contributing donations to the Fisher House and the Houston Food Bank.
Thank you for your support!!
I’m very excited to be able to participate in this event and raise money to help SAME fund these worthwhile endeavors.
