Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation

The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation is the only non-profit organization in North America exclusively dedicated to finding a cure and improving the quality of life for those affected by cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). Approximately 10,000 people in the United States are diagnosed each year with this hard-to-diagnose, difficult-to-treat, fatal type of cancer. Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare but deadly cancer that has very little name recognition or awareness. Due to this lack of visibility, it is often overlooked as symptoms can mimic those of other illnesses and diagnosis comes too late. Conventional cancer treatments remain ineffective against cholangiocarcinoma, and most people diagnosed with advanced disease have less than a 5% chance of surviving at least five years. While almost 2 out of 3 people with bile duct cancer are 65 or older, people of nearly any age can be diagnosed. There has been an alarming increase in the past decade of young individuals being diagnosed in their 20’s, 30’s or 40’s.

Your support of TeamCCF will significantly enhance awareness and recognition of bile duct cancer and raise critical funds for research, outreach and education to serve all those affected by cholangiocarcinoma.

AACR Philadelphia Marathon, Half Marathon, 8k
November 23 - 24, 2019
 Philadelphia, PA

On April 11, 2019 we lost my sister-in-law Emily to Cholangiocarcinoma, a very rare and agressive form of bile duct cancer. She fought hard for 2 long years, and never once would you have known how hard she was fighting. She always had a smile on her face, and never complained to anyone about the trials she was facing. She was the strongest mother and wife a family could ask for. She always made sure everyone was taken care of, no matter how hard her day was. She was the true definition of a fighter and warrior. She was taken away from us all too soon, and had so much more to give.

This November 23, 2019 I'm joining TeamCCF and running the Philadelphia Marathon Rothman 8K for Emily, in hopes to raise awareness and money for this horrible disease so that one day hopefully no one else will have to suffer through what her and her family have gone through.

Any donation is greatly appreciated, as well as sharing the information about this foundation.

Emily, I am running this for you!
