Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation

The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation is the only non-profit organization in North America exclusively dedicated to finding a cure and improving the quality of life for those affected by cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). Approximately 10,000 people in the United States are diagnosed each year with this hard-to-diagnose, difficult-to-treat, fatal type of cancer. Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare but deadly cancer that has very little name recognition or awareness. Due to this lack of visibility, it is often overlooked as symptoms can mimic those of other illnesses and diagnosis comes too late. Conventional cancer treatments remain ineffective against cholangiocarcinoma, and most people diagnosed with advanced disease have less than a 5% chance of surviving at least five years. While almost 2 out of 3 people with bile duct cancer are 65 or older, people of nearly any age can be diagnosed. There has been an alarming increase in the past decade of young individuals being diagnosed in their 20’s, 30’s or 40’s.

Your support of TeamCCF will significantly enhance awareness and recognition of bile duct cancer and raise critical funds for research, outreach and education to serve all those affected by cholangiocarcinoma.

AACR Philadelphia Marathon, Half Marathon, 8k
November 23 - 24, 2019
 Philadelphia, PA

On November 23, I will be participating in the Philadephia Marathon Weekend 8k (5 miles). This will be the 2nd time I will be participating in this event and the 2nd time I am running in loving memory of my late boyfriend, Mike, and to support the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. This foundation means a lot to me because my love died from Cholangiocarcinoma in June 2018; we did not even know he was suffering from this cancer. Mike was the most incredible person! He lived his life to the fullest, was a friend to all, and left a positive impact on all the people with whom he crossed paths. Mike and I loved to spend as much time as we could with one another and were fortunate enough to share many experiences together. We traveled whenever we had the chance. Mike showed me what it was like to live life to the fullest! He meant and still means the world to me and has taught me so much. Mike is missed every day and he will continue to live on through us.

Please contribute to the Cholangiocarcinoma in memory of Mike, my bestest friend and the love of my life.No amount is too small to help further research efforts surrounding this horrendous disease. Together, we can raise awareness and help others affected by this disease.

Thank you,
Jeannine

Missing You

Another day has arrived
without you by my side

I keep on waiting for this nightmare to end
And for you to come home again

This home is not the same anymore
A big piece is missing and for that there's no cure

You have my heart and I have yours too
Always loving and missing you

The times we've shared were incredulous
You are the world to me and my one fulfilled wish

Thank you for teaching me so many things
Oh the tumultuous joy it brings

Waking up with you each day
holding you so close in every way

I love you baby oh so much
words can't describe how I miss your touch

I know that you are here with me
and for that I will always try to be

More like you in every way
more like you every day

Loving life one step at a time
being so positive, happy, and kind

Living life to the fullest with laughter and cheer
with positive vibrations and living without fear

I wish I could have more time with you
And to say more “I love you too”.
