The Landing exists to empower survivors of human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation in the Houston area. By welcoming survivors into our drop-in center, providing them with an advocate, or reaching out to them on Bissonnet, our intention is to meet people where they are—wherever it may be—and support them throughout their journey.
Hi there! A little about me.... I love spending time with my baby and my hubby, Sunny! I serve on the Board at an anti-trafficking ministry, called The Landing. Sunny and I also have a media company called Solace Media...(keep us in mind for websites, graphics, videography and more ;) I'm constantly reminded that we face battles every day, so we are to "Put on the whole armor of God...having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace..." - Ephesians 13-15. As I decide to run/walk at various events, I hope to stand and raise money for causes supporting justice, hope, and truth.
I've done just a few runs/bike rides: In 2010, I rode my bicycle from Texas to Alaska, with a group called Texas4000. I rode for my friends and family who had cancer - my friend Esther, my dad and countless others. Although it was extremely tough physically, mentally and spiritually, it was also one of the most unbelievably beautiful journeys. In 2012, I ran the LA Marathon and helped mentor a group of high school students running it through Students Run LA. In 2015, I ran the Austin Marathon with my family from England, California, and Houston!
Through these experiences, I've seen how being physically active can have a major positive effect on one's mental health, so I hope that you will also sign up to do a run or bike ride in the near future! Please let me know if you have any questions about how to get started!
