I'm really excited to be walking/running (mostly walking) in the Reason2Race 5K, supporting the Katy ISD Education Foundation! The Katy ISD Education Foundation awards grants to teachers in the Katy ISD area. They have awarded numerous grants to very well deserving teachers. With the funds from the grants, teachers have been able to implemment innovative ideas in the classroom such as new classroom library books, STEM boxes, and flexible seating. As a 2 time grant recipient I know first hand the benefits of such a great foundation. We have purchased OSMOs for our school and the kids absolutely love them! The technology app allows students to interact with a computer as they solve math problems using critical thinking skills, problem solving, spatial recognition and coding.
