Bel Inizio

Located in Houston, Texas, Bel Inizio helps disadvantaged women develop self-confidence and life skills through fitness and nutrition. Participants train to complete a 5K, which helps prepare them for the ultimate race — the race for a better life.

Houston has a generous giving community and great compassion for those in need. We have emergency shelters, transitional housing, and half-way houses. The agencies offer case workers, recovery programs, and job skills training. What gets lost, and is critically needed, is helping individuals achieve the self esteem and confidence that can come from an ongoing exercise and nutrition program.

Chevron Houston Marathon/Half Marathon
January 18, 2015
 Houston, TX

I thank you for visiting this page! Please allow me to take you through my journey of running.

I have always enjoy being active by playing sports but never consider myself a runner. I first gave it a try in the spring of 2013 in the Houston Rodeo 10K. Since then, the running bug bit me and I have completed 6 half marathons and 4 states (TX, WA, OR, CO). My long term goal is to complete 50 half marathons in 50 states.

100% of your financial donation will go toward Bel Inizio (Italian for Beautiful Beginning), a local Houston program that helps disadvantaged women to develop and embrace self confidence and life skills through fitness and nutrition. Please read more about this powerful program on the left side.

This is my first time fundraising on behalf of an organization. To make this inaugural event special, I have listed a few incentives.

For my local (Houston and greater metro suburbs) donors:

The first person to give $50 will receive a hand carwash by me.

The first person to give $75 will receive a 3.5-lb of tender Baby Back ribs smoked by myself.

The first person to give $100 will received a 48-oz salmon fillet smoked with pecan woodchips on a cedar plank done by myself again.

(If you have seen the pictures I have posted on my facebook, you'd know the food prizes are awesome!)

For my out-of-state donors, I'm open to suggestions! I'm all game (No tattoos, please)!

Give as your heart leads you and no donation is too small. My hope for you is to start or continue a healthy habit, eat well and get involve in your community.

"In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: β€˜It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” - Acts 20:35.

Thank you for visiting the page! God bless you and run happy!
